Most of the Outlook users face corruption in the OST files. First, I downloaded and installed OST Recovery Tool on my system. Then I launched the tool.

After that, the initial screen of the utility displayed. Then I clicked on Add File button to select the corrupt OST file.

Then, I selected the OST file from my system by clicking on ‘…’ button. The storage location where the file will be saved after the corruption is given by default. One can also change it. I also changed and added the path of my selected location.

Then I click on the Add File button. After that, the scanning process started.

After the completion of the scanning process, a dialog box appeared with the message ‘Scanning of the selected file completed successfully. Do you want to save scan?’. Then I clicked on the Yes button.

I was able to preview all the data items within the OST file. In the bottom pane, I was able to view the selected email in Normal Mail View.

Also, I viewed attachments associated with the particular email by clicking on the Attachments tab.

In the left side of the window, I was able to view all the folders and the mailbox items

The utility also provided two different ways to get a better view that are Horizontal and Vertical View.

Then I clicked on Export button to migrate emails. Then I selected some of the emails and then right clicked and selected Export .

Then in Select Export Type, I selected PST file format and clicked on the Advanced Setting option.

In Advanced Setting option, three option were given: PST Split Option, Date and Time Filter, Categories. I selected the options according to my requirements and then clicked on the Save button.

The dialog box appeared after the settings were saved. Then I clicked on the OK button.

After that, I selected the destination location to save the exported data by clicking on the Browse button.

Finally, I clicked on the Export button. After the completion of the export process, a notification appeared. Then, I clicked on the OK button.

I also saved the export report in which all the details related to Exported mails was present including Success Count, Fail Count etc.

Then I imported the recovered file in Outlook to view them.
After performing all the steps given above I was able to repair OST file data and export it into PST file format.
Final Words
With OST Recovery I was able to complete the task given by my manager to repair OST files. I was very happy as this tool worked like magic.
