Step 1: Convert OST to PST File

There are few manual techniques to change Outlook data file from an OST to PST file:

Method 1: Export Feature of MS Outlook

Follow the below steps to convert file emails from Exchange OST to Microsoft Outlook . Let us have a look:

a) First of all, launch the Microsoft Outlook
b) Click on File menu, navigate to Export to a file and then, press Next
c) Now, choose Personal File Folder (.pst) and click Next button
d). Select a particular folder you wish to export and check the option Include subfolders
e). After this, select the desired location where to save the exported file and Click the Finish button.

Note: When executing above method, you must have connected to MS Exchange Server.

Method 2: Using Outlook Archive Feature

It helps to move data to mailbox items to Outlook PST file. Well, you should try further steps for this conversion process:

a). Start Outlook mail client, go to File menu and then, choose Archive
b). Now, select a file or folder to archive on a new open window
c). Choose the destination for an archived .pst files
d). Finally, archiving process will begin when you click OK button.

Note: This method allows to transfer entire OST data file except all Outlook Contacts.

Method 3: Export Outlook items to a new PST

This method converts all mailbox items of Offline OST file into a new .pst file. Here are following steps:

a) . Open the Microsoft Outlook
b). Create a new Outlook PST File in Outlook account profile
c). Now, choose the mailbox folders that you need to export in PST file

Note: This solution does not permit to drag these default folder i.e., Inbox, Calendars, Sent Items, Contacts, etc into a file. So, you just need to copy that folder from Exchange Offline OST to PST file.

Step 2: Upload PST File into Exchange Online

B) Network Upload

In this approach, one just needs to transfer or copy PST (Personal Storage Table) file into MS Exchange Online without wasting the time. Follow each step of this manual approach:

1. Now, copy SAS URL and then, install Azure AzCopy Tool
2. Transfer files into MS Exchange Online mailbox
3. Then, view a list of Outlook data files (.pst) uploaded or saved to Office 365 (Optional)
4.  After this, create the PST import mapping file
5.  In the last step, make a Personal Storage Table (PST) import job in Exchange Online mailbox

Remember:  Step 1 can only be executed once to convert PST file to Exchange Online mailbox. Then, you have to follow Step 2 through Step 5 at times you want to transfer multiple Outlook Data files in bulk.

1. The above manual approach is very lengthy and time-consuming.
2. It requires technical knowledge to upload PST files to Exchange Online mailboxes.
3. If any steps missed out then, data deletion or corruption may occur.
